(WRN) -The head of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is concerned about the baiting and feeding of deer in the state.D-N-R Secretary Preston Cole is questioning why the practice is still allowed in Wisconsin while chronic wasting disease is still spreading. Scientists think baiting and feeding encourage deer to congregate over the food left for them, leading to the spread of the disease.
State law bans the practice in infected counties for 36 months and in neighboring counties for 24 months.
