-The Granton School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.Principal Amanda Kraus reported that all of the district’s families have been set up with the Granton Newsletter through the TRG. Their first article is going to go out with the TRG on May 8th. A google doc will be set up for all clubs and teachers to trade off article responsibility. She’s also been working with the various committees to set-up next year. After reviewing some of the protocols, they’re looking to make changes to the PBIS, Cell Phone/Student Device Policy and the behavioral policy. The principal will be bringing the highlighted changes to the next board meeting for final approval. Finally, the principal also stated that one of their art students has been re-vamping the school logo for her class. This is something the principal has been looking into and have found quite a few logos. She asked, do we want to set a specific school-wide logo? As part of the PBIS changes for next year, they will be making positive signs throughout the building. The school board will review sample logos in May.
Superintendent Scott Woodington reported the red 2001 Dodge Caravan has approximately 169,000 miles. It’s need of some repair for approximately $500 and new tires for approximately $400. The green Ford van has approximately 110,000 miles and is also in need of new tires for approximately $350. Both vehicles’ bodies are in pretty good shape; therefore, they will get new tires and do the repair. The district received the quote for health insurance from Spectrum Benefit Solutions with a 7% increase in premiums. They will request other quotes. Finally, he stated they recently had an inspection of the Child Care facility as mandated by the state. They discovered their infant room does not have direct access to the outside, which is code. He is in the process of getting a quote for installing a new door.
