(AP) -Wisconsin National Guard officials recorded more than 50 reports of sexual assault between 2013 and 2017.The Guard's sexual assault response coordinator, Robert Brania, told reporters during a question-and-answer session Thursday that investigators have taken 52 reports during those years. Twenty were so-called "restricted" reports in which the alleged victim requests confidentiality and no investigation is launched. Thirty reports were "unrestricted" reports where the alleged victim doesn't request confidentiality and the incident is referred to police.
Twenty of those reports involved incidents connected to military service. Of those, Guard investigators substantiated 10 reports, meaning they felt there was enough evidence to move forward with potential administrative discipline. The U.S. Air Force is investigating allegations of sexual assault in the Guard dating back to 2002.
