Greenwood School Board Approves Borrowing for Improved Entrance Security Project

-The Greenwood School Board approved a loan for their entrance security project at their meeting on Monday.The board approved to borrow up to $275,000 at 4.25% interest for 10 years to finance the elementary school office relocation and improved entrance security project. Administration also shared with the board who was elected to the Health Insurance Co-op Board and they updated the board on the Health Insurance premium for 2019-2020. The Co-op went out for bids and the best bid was submitted by Wisconsin Counties Association. It’s the same coverages, one statewide network, and with 3.34% increase in premium costs. The Co-op is changing providers, which means they are too. No board action was required and an informational meeting for staff is being planned. As for dental, Delta Dental bid came in with a 2.29% reduction in premium for improved coverage. The board approved changing the dental insurance provider.
The board also approved the 5-year copier/printer lease and they heard the 2019-2020 budget development is progressing. The board approved the Athletic Code Handbook and the Coaches and Advisors Handbook for 2019-2020. Finally, the board discussed the K-8 Reading Curriculum proposal and they approved the purchase of the American Reading Company ARC Reading program for grades K-8. The program will be implemented in 2019-2020.
