Employment Matters and More at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting on Monday.The board approved the resignation/retirement of Cheri Lenz, an Elementary School LMC Assistant. The board also approved a few field trips including the Spanish Club to the Festival of Nations event in the Twin Cities, the FFA Leadership trip to Washington DC, the Summer Camping Experience Summer School trip, and the Boys Basketball overnight staff at camp in June. The board also approved 4 volunteers. The board approved a few donations including $1000 form Sand County Foundation in support of School Pollinator and Monarch Habitat Grant program, a GRR-ripper 3D Pushblock from MICROJIG for the Tech Ed Department and consultation from Doug Schlough on the purchase and installation of a new planner in the Tech Ed Department.
The board also heard a presentation. Teachers Michelle Johnson and Amanda Schlough provided a review and endorsement of the American Reading Company Reading Program. This would be a K-8 program. The board was also updated on the Elementary School Office/Entry project. The Invitation to Bid information will be going out later this week. Finally, the board tabled the discussion of the School Safety Assessment until the May meeting.
