Medford Man Sentenced for Stealing from Country Club

-A Medford man was sentenced for stealing from the Black River Country Club just outside of Medford.According to court records, Chad Lingen had been charged with theft of a business setting and fraud after he stole more than $25,000 from the club. He would do so by deleting records of daily sales between April and November of 2014. The missing money was discovered when deposits from the club didn’t match their sales.
During his court appearance on Wednesday, Lingen was found guilty, due to a no contest plea, of 5 counts of theft of movable property. Another charge was given a deferred sentenced. Lingen was sentenced to 3 years of probation with a condition of 30 days jail time. He also owes $500 a month for restitution.
