Public Works Report at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report at their meeting on Tuesday.

The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, trimming and pruning trees, maintaining street lighting, filling pot holes, hauling brush and compost, open storm drains and snow and ice removal. The Sewer Department also did some lift maintenance and the Water Department read meters. The council also heard the Neillsville Community Fire Hall Board meeting from March 14th. It was mentioned that the fire house roof was leaking and the service door should be replaced. The department has $22,555.82 in available funds.

The council heard the Library Board meeting report from March 19th. Easter Book Baskets are going well and the Summer Reading Program is almost set. They also discussed upcoming events and approved allowing the librarian to apply for a scholarship. Finally, the council heard the Heritage Days Report from their meeting on March 20th. They heard a financial update, an update on the Miss Neillsville program, the beer vendor, food vendors and a possible new event.
