(WRN) -Assembly Speaker Robin Vos is refusing to testify in the state's partisan redistricting case. It's the latest development in the now eight year-old story that began when Republicans who controlled the legsilature drew legislative and congressional district lines. Vos and his attorneys have refused to accept a subpoena, turn over documents or agree to have him sit for a deposition, maintaining he is immune from civil legal actions.
Attorneys representing Democrats suing over the maps filed court documents this week. They want a panel of federal judges to force Vos to testify, claiming he waived any claim to legislative immunity by intervening as a defendant. An attorney for Vos rejected that argument.
