Employment Matters at Neillsville School Board Meeting

-The Neillsville School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting on Monday.

The board approved a Memorandum of Understanding for Amy Arndt, Julia Backaus, John O’Leary and Jane Miller. They also approved the resignation of Matt Peterson from his assistant baseball coaching position. The board approved the hiring of Reed Lehman for an assistant baseball coaching position, Kathy Luchterhand for an assistant track coaching position, Sara Rosewicz for a middle school track coaching position and Melissa Strangfeld for a middle school track coaching position. The board also approved the initial adoption of Policy IGDA. The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Scott Schiller reported on attendance, the Achievement Gap Reduction Report, the Regional Spelling Bee held on February 18th, Read Across America held February 25th through March 1st, 100th Day of School held February 26th, the 5th grade performance of the Super Storm Opera held on March 5th, Forward Exam testing, 4K open house and registration on April 12th and the 6th grade musical on April 18th.

High School Principal Craig Anderson reported on attendance, scheduling, rescheduling the Academic Letter Ceremony, a music department update, a blood drive on March 21st, a Florida trip March 25th through the 31st, the Cloverbelt Scholar Athlete Banquet on April 3rd, the Cloverbelt Scholar Banquet on April 10th, a drug & alcohol presentation on April 24th, high school prom on April 27th, the 7th grade trip to Festival of Nations on May 3rd, a presentation of scholarships on May 15th and testing updates. District Administrator John Gaier reported on a thank you note from the Junior Class and Mrs. Backaus.
