(WRN) -Governor Tony Evers pick to lead the state Department of Corrections gets approval from a legislative committee.Sixty year-old Kevin Carr, a U-S Marshall and longtime member of the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, received unanimous support from a state Senate committee. Members called him "well qualified." Tuesday's vote sends his appointment to the full Senate.
If approved there, Carr will oversee an agency that houses some 23-thousand inmates and includes five maximum security and ten medium security facilities.
