Neillsville School Board Approves Items for Next School Year

-The Neillsville School Board approved a couple items in preparation of the next school year at their meeting on Monday.The board approved the CESA Contracts for the next school year with the cost coming to $647,549. However, that number is an estimated cost as certain factors could change by the next school year. The next school year’s contract has increased compared to this year’s $602,543. The board also approved the school calendar for next year. The year is similar to this year with school beginning on September 3rd and ending June 5th. The board also approved the summer school classes for this year with a couple new options and some minor adjustments to others and they approved an early graduation request. The board also approved a field trip to the Festival of Nations in Minnesota.
The board approved the application for the ECCP and Start College Now Program. 62 students applied for the programs with 6 actually going to earn credits on campus. Students going to the campus are responsible for their own transportation and the district has no liability when they are there. Finally, the board approved a donation of $126.46 from Citizens State Bank of Loyal. The money will be used by the Neillsville Special Education Program for the lights down in Schuster Park during the Christmas season.
