(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Non-profit, public and community groups in Wood and surrounding counties that have ideas to increase agricultural-related education opportunities or enhance rural communities and agriculture awareness are being encouraged to apply for grant funding. The money is coming from the proceeds of the 2018 Farm Technology Days show held last summer near Marshfield. Education Grants are intended for projects that generate or enhance educational opportunities that increase knowledge and understanding of agriculture and food systems for Central Wisconsin residents. Community Grants can be used to create, implement or enhance an agricultural-related community project that has a long-term benefit to the area. Grant requests can range between $500 to $50,000. Preference will be given to projects that develop leadership skill building opportunities for youth, families and adults.
The committee is also looking for proposals that would benefit a large population of residents in Wood County and surrounding areas. The deadline to apply for grant funding is April 1, 2019.
