Administrators' Reports at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.Athletic Director and Dean of Students Jenny Mayenschein provided an update on Sports seasons and student activities. The winter season saw 20 games postponed due to the weather. One varsity girls’ basketball game and 3 MS girls’ games were cancelled. Winter Sports Awards Night is Sunday, March 17th at 6:00 pm in the Cafetorium. For Spring Sports, Track started March 1st, Softball March 8th, and Baseball will start March 15th. ACT Test make-up is March 12th, the Spring Concert is March 18th at 7:00 pm and the 3-Act play, Hollywood Hillbillies, is March 22nd-24th. District Administrator Todd Felhofer reported on some political items. He provided the board with highlights of Governor Ever’s proposed 2019-2021 State Biennial Budget as it pertains to education.
A review of the state budget process by the Wisconsin Policy Forum was also shared with the board. Mr. Felhofer met with Representative Jesse James to discuss education issues. Also, the district successfully addressed all concerns raised from a public sector safety audit conducted by the state. An ORDERS CLOSED letter was received on February 15th. Technology Education teacher Noah Werner has been recognized by the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a 2019 Crystal Apple Teacher. Mr. Werner was one of four teachers in the area recognized. Finally, the ACT Boot Camp was well received by the Juniors as a preparation for the ACT Test.
