Granton Village Board Hears Presentation
Friday, March 15th, 2019 -- 12:55 PM
-The Granton Village Board heard a presentation to begin their meeting on Wednesday.According to the unofficial minutes, the class of 99’ would like to purchase a bench, to place in the park, in memory of Michelle Bandt. They are hoping to have the bench placed north of the new pavilion. The board is more than happy to accept this donation in the memory of Michelle Bandt. The board also accepted a $1,500 donation for Fall Fest. The board also discussed the care of Romadka Avenue. The village does not have any problem paying for the care but the Town of Grant continues to arbitrarily raise the price. Grant cannot advise how often they tend to the road, how much time is spent or an hourly rate. The village proposed at the meeting that Grant take care of the summer maintenance and the village takes care of the winter and that no money is exchanged. This suggestion was not met with happiness.
It was suggested the fairest billing would be to disclose an hourly rate and keep a record of time spent and bill accordingly. The Granton Board discussed the amount of time village employees are spending on this road and reviewed the time sheet for the past month. The village has not charged Grant. Grant was not able to attend the meeting so further discussion was postponed. The board also approved moving money equally from the Water, Sewer and the Equipment funds into the general budget respectively for Water, Sewer and Roads to cover the cost of the new John Deer Backhoe and the Fall Fest Donation.
