Greenwood School Board Hears Committee and Administrators' Reports

-The Greenwood School Board heard the Committee and Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.Two board members reported on a recent workshop they attended and another reported on the Legislative Forum held in Medford. The Buildings and Grounds Committee met on March 7th. They reviewed winter weather impacts and potential issues for spring. Also custodial staff will begin reviewing and prioritizing maintenance and repair projects for the summer. Elementary Principal Joe Green provided an update on the 4K registration for 2019-2020. All 4K students will be screened during the first couple of weeks of school in the fall.
He also said the Family Literacy Night held on February 28th was huge success. Upcoming events include a Talent Show on April 18th and The Color Run-Celebration of Arts! on May 22nd. Finally, he stated an application was submitted for a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant and, if received, this would be used for the afterschool program. Forward Testing for Grades 3-8 and 10 and ACT Aspire for Grades 9 and 10 testing will begin soon.
