Referendum Information at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard an update on their upcoming referendum.District Administrator Bob Houts updated the board on the communication efforts that have been undertaken so far to communicate the referendum information to community members. A mailing went out the week of March 4th to all box holders in the district that describes the referendum, what it is for and what it is not for. A post card will be sent the last week of March to remind people to vote on April 2. Table toppers will be distributed to area restaurants this week.
Mr. Houts will do interviews this week with both newspapers and Facebook and the district’s website will be used to communicate information over the next three weeks. Mr. Houts reminded board members that, as elected officials, they need to stay neutral in their discussion of the referendum, expressing facts about what the money is for, rather than convincing how to vote.
