Greenwood School Board Approves Creating More Secure Enterance at Elementary School

-The Greenwood School Board discussed an item from a community meeting held last week.The board revisited the public information meeting on the elementary school entrance and office proposal from March 5th. The board discussed the need for providing the best level of safety and security for students and staff. Following the discussion the board approved the motion to go forward with the project to relocate the school office and create a more secure main entrance at the elementary school. During the appearances portion of the meeting, a community member commented that the public information meeting held last week on the elementary school entrance/office proposal was a “a good meeting and well-prepared.” Administration also presented the board with a revised high school custodial cleaning schedule.
The board also approved a resolution to borrow $258,000 to fund the elementary school office relocation and improved entrance security project. Administration updated the board that the Health Insurance Cooperative was now officially recognized by the state and the Cooperative voted unanimously to solicit bids for 2019-2020. More information will be available on March 19th. The board also approved the purchase of a new planer for the Technology Education Department. Finally, the board accepted the resignation of Jenny Hafermann as the Middle School Girls basketball coach and approved the Science Club field trip.
