Two Sites Named for Possible Youth Prisons

(WRN) -Two sites have been named as potential locations for new youth prisons.Governor Tony Evers says the state will build replacement youth prisons in Milwaukee and Outagamie Counties. The construction is part of the plan to close down Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake prisons in Lincoln County, which have been mired in misconduct and inmate abuse allegations for years.
In a statement, Evers said “We are committed to getting kids out of Lincoln Hills and closer to home as soon as we safely and responsibly can." The Governor included extra spending on the projects as part of his budget proposals.
