Democrats Celebrate Their Pick for the 2020 National Convention

(WRN) -Democrats from across the country were on hand in Milwaukee to celebrate the city's selection as host of the 2020 Democratic National Convention.Democrats from across the country are celebrating the selection of Milwaukee as the host site for the 2020 Democratic National convention. DNC Chair Tom Perez says Milwaukee will be the start Democrats need to win in 2020.
"In the spirit of the Progressive movement of this great state of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in the 21st century recaptured that spirit, enabled them, enabled us, and enabled America to take back our democracy."
Perez says Wisconsin's Progressive spirit and good will can unite Democrats for 2020.
"After people have been to Summerfest, after they've had a beer and a brats, maybe some vegan brats, who knows? Our party will be unified, we will have a unity of purpose. We will be organized. We will be ready to win."
Perez says Milwaukee's labor spirit is something that needs to rub off on the attendees of the convention.
"I am absolutely confident that we can do it. I am absolutely confident that we can only do it together, and I'm absolutely confident that there's a lot of work to be done."
Milwaukee won out over other finalists Houston and Miami. The event will be hosted out of the Fiserv Forum, and organizers are already starting the search for volunteers for the convention.
