Black River Falls Man Arrested After Standoff Situation

-A Black River Falls man was arrested after a standoff situation yesterday evening.According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, they received reports that a wanted man, 40-year-old Anthony Phillips of Black River Falls, was at a residence located at W10601 Murphy Road in Black River Falls. The warrant was from a domestic violence incident that occurred on March 3rd. The owner of the home allowed deputies to enter and they began negotiating with Phillips who was in an attached garage. During that time, deputies learned that Phillips had a .22 pistol and said he would shoot himself if deputies tried to enter. Additional officers from the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Department arrived on the scene to offer their assistance.
Finally, after four hours of negotiation, Phillips exited the home and was arrested without incident. Phillips was booked into the Jackson County Jail on charges of Domestic Disorderly Conduct, Domestic Battery, False Imprisonment, and a felony DOC warrant. Additional charges are pending.
