Lynn Dairy Takes First in Mild Cheddar Category at 2019 Championship Cheese Contest

(WDLB) -Granton-based Lynn Dairy grabbed a first place win at the 2019 United States Championship Cheese Contest this week in the Atrium at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.Cheesemaker Dave Lindgren and the Lynn Dairy staff took “Best of Class” in the Mild Cheddar ??" 0-3 months class, with a score of 98.55, edging out AMPI of Jim Falls with a score of 98.25. This is the 20th biennial run for the United States Championship Cheese Contest. Cheesemakers from 35 states participated.
Lynn Dairy is a third-generation family owned and operated cheese manufacturer. Walter Schwantes purchased the dairy in 1949.
