Dump Truck Gets Tangled in Power Lines in Marshfield

-A few businesses in Marshfield went without power most of the day yesterday after a dump truck became tangled in some power lines.The accident happened around 7am on South Maple Avenue near 25th Street in Marshfield. A dump truck, owned by an independent contractor, was dumping snow on a backlot when it didn’t lower the truck bed and snagged a communications line and took a power pole down as well. Repairs have been made, but special equipment needs to be brought in from Madison to complete the project.
The Marshfield Police Department is still deciding whether the driver will be cited. The businesses without power included Wheelers Chevrolet GMC, Figi’s and Enbridge Pipeline. Power was restored to all businesses by 2:30pm.
