Wisconsin All Milk Price for December

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The Wisconsin all milk price for December 2018 was $16.00 per hundredweight.According to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report, that was 90-cents lower than last month's price and $1.80 below year-ago levels. The U.S. all milk price for December was $16.40 per cwt, 40-cents higher than Wisconsin's price, but 60-cents lower than a month earlier. All of the 23 major milk producing states had a lower price when compared with November. New Mexico had the lowest price in the nation at $14.70. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange 40-pound block cheese price closed at $1.59 per pound on February 20, while barrels were $1.41 per pound.
The CME butter price was $2.25 per pound. For the week ending February 9, the Agricultural Marketing Service U.S. weekly 40-pound block cheese price averaged $1.43 per pound, and 500 pound barrels adjusted to 38 percent moisture averaged $1.26 per pound. The U.S. butter price was $2.28 per pound.
