Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association Awards Scholarships

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The Baraboo-based Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association has announced the names of this year's college scholarship recipients.The co-op is offering ten $1,000 scholarships for students attending a college or university, and two $750 technical education scholarships. The scholarships are funded by Equity and distributed through Cooperative Network's Federated Youth Foundation. To be eligible, students or their parents are patron members of Equity Livestock. Applicants must have completed at least two semesters at a post secondary college, university or technical school, as well as maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. One local winner is Katelyn Zimmerman of Spencer, studying agriculture & life sciences communication at Iowa State University.
Applicants were judged on their scholastic achievement, extra curricular activities, leadership abilities, academic and personal goals, and an essay summarizing educational goals and future career plans.
