(WRN) -State consumer protection officials have released their list of the top ten complaints from last year.State consumer protection officials have released their list of the top ten complaints from last year. State director Michelle Reinen says the top complaint probably won't surprise you: it was robo-calls.
Consumers received limitless calls from scam artists and con artists trying to steal their personal information and their finances from them."
One surprising shift was medical billing issues. Reinen says that moved into the number five spot.
"It's really discrepancies or misrepresentations about the bills or unauthorized charges or even coding issues that can happen when you're out of network."
Number two on the list this year was issues between landlords and tenants, and that's usually over security deposits.
"So whether or not your security deposit was return, or if there was some amount of withholdings, or even what that withholding was for."
Also making the list this year were complaints about phone and internet problems and home improvement scams.
