Wisconsin Department of Agriculture's Farm Center Offering Help to Farmers

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Farmers going through financial or emotional stress as a result of the current slump in the agricultural economy are being reminded that help is just a phone call away.The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture's Farm Center has staff available to help producers navigate the ups and downs that come with low commodity prices. The service works one-on-one with farmers and their families through all phases of the farm cycle, including start-up, growth, change, generational succession and retirement. These no-cost services are available for both new and experienced farmers. Schmitt notes that Farm Center staff can help sort out farm financial options and offer a listening ear if you need someone to talk to about your farm situation.
DATCP also has a counseling voucher program that can be used to access mental health services. To speak with a consultant at the Wisconsin Farm Center, call 800-942-2474 anytime Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
