-The cold is here. And a long list of cancellations, including county schools, the Clark County Courthouse, factories and even the mail, prove just how dangerous it is. The Clark County Emergency Management Department states that you must do everything you can to help protect yourself, your family and your property. Some steps you can take include limit your time outdoors and dress in layers if you must be outside, check your furnace to make sure it’s working properly and check furnace vents for ice and snow buildup.
Also, check fuel levels and schedule immediate fuel delivery if low, do not attempt to use gasoline, propane heaters, or grills to heat your home and if you have pets, limit their time outdoors and provide shelter, extra food, and extra water.
