Former Marshfield Nurse Sentenced for Having Sex with a Patient

-A Marshfield woman charged for having sex with a patient at the Norwood Health Center was sentenced in Wood County Court on Monday.According to court records, Courtney Brockman, a nurse’s aide at the Health Center, was caught having sex with a patient on March 25th by a sheriff’s deputy who needed to use the bathroom. The patient initially denied that anything occurred, but, eventually, he showed investigators his phone and they saw numerous communications indicating a sexual relationship with Brockman. Brockman said she knew the relationship was wrong, but she had been having personal problems and the patient became a sounding board for her and their relationship evolved from there.
Brockman was found guilty of 2nd degree sexual assault back in November. Another charge of resisting or obstructing an officer was dismissed. During her court appearance on Tuesday, she was sentenced to six months in jail and three years’ probation. She’s also not allowed to have any contact with the victim or she can no longer be employed in any work with people with disabilities.
