Real Winter Weather Is Back This Week

(National Weather Service) -A stretch of wintry and arctic weather will grip the area for much of this week. Accumulating snow will fall into Monday, with 5 to 10 inches expected. [color=red]Winter Storm Warnings are in effect from 6 PM today until 6 PM Monday.[/color]An outbreak of arctic air will bring dangerously cold air to the region starting Tuesday and continuing for much of the work week. Some records will likely be set during this outbreak. [color=purple]A Wind Chill Watch is in effect for Tuesday into Thursday.[/color]
[color=red]This is a potentially DANGEROUS situation, with record cold not seen since January of 1996 possible.[/color]
If you must be outside this week, cover exposed skin by wearing several layers of clothing including a hat, scarf and mittens or gloves. Remember to protect pets from the cold and make sure they have a source of fresh water. Check on family members or neighbors, especially the elderly.
