Employment Matters at Neillsville School Board Meeting

-The Neillsville School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting on Monday.

The board approved the hiring of Shannon Pavlac for a teaching assistant position, Becky Short for the National Honor Society advisor position and Carly Kuran for the Creative Writing Club advisor position. The board also approved the resignation of Melissa Strangfeld from her middle school track coaching position. The board also approved the initial adoption of Policy GCE. The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Principal Scott Schiller reported on attendance, ACP Switch Day on January 9th, end-of-quarter reward on January 18th, behavior changes for 3rd quarter and Warrior of the Week. High School Principal Craig Anderson reported on attendance, scheduling for 2019-2020, music department updates, upcoming testing for 7-12 and other ACP news, middle school updates and the Laude grading system.

District Administrator John Gaier reported on two thank you cards, the annual AEF membership meeting, an invitation for the Academic and Career Planning Night, a summary from the Blue Ribbon Commission on school funding and an update from the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty. He also reported on two Focus articles, the in-service day schedule, an article on adopting e-cigarette ordinances, a request regarding the school song, proposed secure entry plans, possible high school entrance designs and electronic announcement signage.
