-The Clark County Board of Supervisors toured the new addition at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center at their meeting last week. The meeting was held at the center for that specific purpose. Construction began in early 2019 after the board finally gave approval to the project. They hope to have everything completed by the end of January with an Open House and Ribbon Cutting on February 15th. They hope to have residents ready to move in by early February as well. The project is on budget and on schedule and the new wing includes private rooms, a dining area, living areas, a private dining area, an activity area, a four seasons room, salon, spa, physical therapy area and more.
The board also approve a resolution, with 28 yes and 0 no votes, to disallow a claim by the relatives of a former resident of the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center. The filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the center. They claim that the center was negligent in the resident’s care and she suffered pain and discomfort as well as increased medical bills. They’re seeking a total of $463,776.10 from the center. The disallowing of the claim by the board allows the legal matters to move forward.
