Administrators' Reports at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

Monday, January 21st, 2019 -- 8:00 AM

-The Owen-Withee School Board approved moving the time of their February meeting at their meeting last week.

Due to a conflict with a girls’ basketball game on February 11th, the board approved moving the February, regular board meeting to start at 5:00 PM. There will be no open forum that night due to the early start of the regular meeting. The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor sent out a big thank you to staff, students and community members who helped with the Angel Tree project this year. Over 70 students received gifts through the project his year. He sent out a special thank you to Ms. Lisa Korn who organizes the event each year. He also sent out a thank you to the UW-Green Bay athletes who spent the day with Owen-Withee students and their support of the Angel Tree project. Congratulations to 5th graders, Danica Cynor, 1st place, and Dharma Cook, 2nd place, and 6th graders Eva Makovsky, 1st place, and Cassidy Graski, 2nd place, for their fine performances in the school spelling bee. Star Lab will be at the district January 22nd??"24th and the Accelerated Reader fieldtrip is tentatively scheduled for January 25th at Perkinstown.

Jr/Sr. High School Dean of Students Julie VanArk reported on finals week, all-conference band and choir at Greenwood on Saturday and Mrs Meyer will be hosting a student teacher during the third quarter. She also offered thanks to Chris Hollar and Aaron Mielke from Clark County who did the staff presentation on vaping and e-cigarettes. The Owen-Withee FFA will be hosting the District Level Leadership Development Event on Tuesday, January 29th from 4-7 PM. District Administrator Bob Houts reported on some events that will be occurring at the WASB convention in Milwaukee next week. It was also mentioned that the Teacher Negotiations committee will meet before the February meeting to set goals for the negotiations with the teachers and support staff groups. They also heard about two thank you notes.
