Illinois Man Arrested for OWI with a Child in the Vehicle in Jackson County Sentenced

-An Illinois man stopped on I-94 near Osseo for OWI with a child in the vehicle was sentenced in Jackson County Court on Wednesday.According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, back in April of last year, they stopped a vehicle going 88mph in a 70mph zone. When the trooper approached the vehicle, he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from it. After requesting backup, a field sobriety test was conducted on Manuel Rodriguez of Berwyn Illinois. He failed the test and was arrested and taken to the hospital for an evidentiary test. Rodriquez was then booked into the Jackson County Jail.
Rodriguez pleaded guilty to a charge of operating with a restricted controlled substance with a minor passenger less than 16 years of age. Two other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 5 days in jail and his license was revoked for 12 months.
