Owen-Withee School Board Approves Next School Year Calendar

-The Owen-Withee School Board approved the 2019-20 School Calendar at their meeting on Monday.District Administrator Bob Houts presented to the board some revisions to the 19-20 school calendar suggested by the teaching staff. The board approved correction of a typo on 1/17/20 that will change the day from Teacher In-Service to Teacher Work Day and moving the December P/T Conferences in the Jr/Sr High School to avoid the conflict with the SLATE conference they experience every year. The board approved the 2019-20 school calendar. Mr. Houts also presented to the board an update on the school safety projects being undertaken this year. New items from the last report include the RFI for the phone system went out.
Two walkthroughs they conducted with vendors will provide bids by the January 31st due date. The video system has been designed and procured with installation to occur on February 18th. The three steel doors and access readers were installed in early December. The safety assessment was conducted and report completed by CESA 10 and law enforcement. Trauma Sensitive School training, as required by the grant and state law, will be conducted on Friday, February 8th. The safety film for the three entryways will be installed as soon as their turn on the list comes up.
