Greenwood Woman Sentenced for Child Abuse

-A Greenwood woman charged with child abuse was sentenced in Clark County Court on Tuesday.According to court records, the Greenwood Police Department received a report of possible child abuse back in April of 2016. Amanda Noah was watching a baby and she told police the baby was gasping for air. Doctor performed a scan and found a small bleed in the baby’s head. Noah initially denied causing the injuries, but, later, she said she forcefully flung the baby on her shoulder after become frustrated. When she checked on the baby later, the child was unconscious. She admitted to police that she knew she caused the injuries.
During her court appearance on Tuesday, the original charge of child abuse was amended to two counts of misdemeanor battery. She was found guilty due to a no contest plea. She was sentenced to 18 months probation.
