Hotel Project in Marshfield Still Moving Forward

(Hub City Times) -Though city officials turned down a request to create a Tax incremental Funding district to assist Prairie Lodging, LLC, in developing a Hampton Inn on the former site of the Knights of Columbus Hall, plans continue to move forward.The developer is planning to go ahead with a conditional use request without the assistance of the TIF. If it is approved by the Plan Commission, then the matter goes to the full council on Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. Without the assistance of the TIF district, cost for any needed street improvements will be split between the city and adjacent property owners, including neighboring homeowners and the hotel property.
There is a public hearing scheduled during the Marshfield Plan Commission meeting on Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. to address the conditional use request for the hotel. The public is also invited to voice concerns at the Jan. 22 common council meeting during public comments.
