With warmer conditions and concerns over ice-thickness the Northern Wisconsin Ice Racing Club was forced to cancel the first race of the season scheduled to take place in New Auburn. The NWIRC looks to kick off the season this Saturday on Otter Lake in Stanley. Sign up begins at 9 with races beginning at noon.
The Central Wisconsin Ice Racing Association had a successful inaugural race on the Wisconsin River near The Lure Bar in Nekoosa with 261 entries across 32 classes. Results were not available at the time of this report but will be posted when available.
With a reported 15 inches of ice and favorable weather all week, the CWIRA will continue the season this Sunday, the 13th in Humbird on Humbird Pond for the Alec Muth Memorial Race. Sign up is begins at 8. With races beginning at 11.
