Neillsville City Council December 26 Meeting

The Neillsville City Council approved a few items at their meeting on Wednesday of this week.The council approved the final donations toward Joseph Anason’s Eagle Scout Project, the bandstand in Schuster Park. They also approved the appropriation of the CDBG Emergency Assistance Program Grant from the Chippewa County Housing Authority. The council also discussed the property at 303 W. Fifteenth Street. They received no bids.
The council also heard the Public Works Report. The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, trimming and pruning trees, maintaining street lighting, filling pot holes, hauling brush and compost, snow and ice removal and more. It was also stated the Water Department finished reading meters, the Sewer Department repaired a leak and the department removed six large pine trees.
The council also heard the Heritage Days Committee Report from their meeting on December 12th. They discussed financials, heard an update on Miss Neillsville, discussed a petting zoo, discussed bands, discussed tent setup and discussed the movie night, glow run and food vendors.
The council heard the Community Fire Hall Board Meeting Report from their meeting on December 20th. The board discussed the building, financials and more.
Finally, the council heard the report from the joint meeting of the Personnel Committee and Police and Fire Commission from their meeting on December 20th.
