Senator Ron Johnson Says Shutdown is "No Big Deal"

(WRN) -The President Tuesday backed off his demand for 5 billion dollars for his border wall.And Republican leaders in Congress still hope to avoid a partial government shutdown before Friday. But Wisconsin Republican Senator Ron Johnson says such a shutdown is "no big deal." Johnson, on a "telephone town hall" Tuesday, said essential operations like Homeland Security won't be impacted by a shut down.
Democrats rejected a GOP counter offer on Tuesday. That means hundreds of thousands of federal workers could be sent home without pay just before Christmas. Johnson said all affected will get back pay.
