Owen-Withee School Board Discusses Referendum

-The Owen-Withee School Board approved a referendum questions at their meeting last week.The board unanimously approved the referendum resolution, which is very similar to the one previous, but contains more of the legal language and requirements, for the election on April. The board approved the Central Wisconsin Educational Telecommunications Network bylaw changes that were proposed. The major changes include eliminating a Board of Directors, which held an Annual Meeting each summer and replacing it with an Operating Committee that consists of the District Administrator of each district in the consortium. The other change is that the proposed budget for the network will be presented in January of the year prior to implementation, rather than in July.
Finally, District Administrator Bob Houts presented the proposed 2019-20 school calendar to the board. The school year would start on September 3rd and conclude on May 28. The calendar will be presented to the staff for input and brought back for approval at the January meeting.
