Wisconsin Farm Technology Days Coming Back to Clark County

Monday, December 10th, 2018 -- 10:52 AM

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The state's largest outdoor farm show is coming back to central Wisconsin in less than four years.

On Friday, the board of directors for Wisconsin Farm Technology Days chose Clark County to host the event in 2022. Chuck Rueth of Loyal helped spearhead the effort to apply for the show. He told Wisconsin Ag Connection.com that after 13 years, it was time to bring Farm Tech Days back to the state's leading dairy county. Rueth served as the executive chairman of the 2005 show, which was held near Loyal that year. He was also involved when Clark County hosted Farm Progress Days in Owen back in 1983. The county will now organize an executive committee of leaders to handle the logistics of the event, such as fundraising, food, parking, field demonstrations and layout out Tent City. They will also put out a call to potential farms to host the three-day exposition sometime next year.

Meanwhile, the state Farm Tech board also chose to hold its 2021 show at the Jefferson County Fair Grounds in Jefferson, making it the first non-county sponsored show in history. The grounds of the Iola Old Car Show was also considered, but the board felt the Jefferson site would offer better accommodations for the event. General Manager Matt Glewen told Wisconsin Ag Connection that it's getting more difficult to find counties that have enough volunteer manpower to run the show, but stressed that the board is not ready yet to hold it at a permanent site. Jefferson County is also hosting next year's Farm Technology Days at Walter's Grain Farm near Johnson Creek, with Eau Claire County in line the following year at Huntsinger Farms.
