Wisconsin's Egg Production Down Slightly in October

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Wisconsin egg production during October totaled 158 million eggs.That's up five percent from the same time last year, but down one percent from the previous month, according to the latest USDA Chickens and Eggs report. The average number of all layers on hand was 6.68 million, down slightly from last year, but unchanged from September. Eggs per 100 layers for October were 2,365.
Nationally, egg production totaled 9.22 billion during October, up three percent from last year. All layers in the U.S. totaled 386 million, up two percent from 2017.
