Spencer Woman Charged with Sexual Assault Appears in Marathon County Court

-A Spencer woman facing charges for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy multiple times appeared in Marathon County Court on Wednesday.According to court records, Linda Habhegger, said she would watch the boy from time to time and even considered herself a mother or aunt figure to the boy. Habhegger, who said she was sexually abused as a child, admitted to authorities she had sex with the boy multiple times at her home between July and September. She said she told the boy he wouldn’t get into trouble. She also told authorities that she didn’t think she did anything wrong.
Habhegger has been charged with three counts of second degree sexual assault of a child. During her arraignment on Wednesday, she entered a not guilty plea to the charges against her. She also had her $5,000 bond changed to a $5,000 signature bond. If convicted and sentenced to the maximum amount, she could face up to 120 years in prison.
