Wednesday, November 28th, 2018 -- 8:59 AM
-The Neillsville City Council began their meeting on Tuesday with a Personnel Committee Meeting. The council discussed an employee retention contract for the Neillsville Police Department. The hope is to hang on to some of their officers as a lot of time and effort goes into the hiring and training of new officers and it’s disappointing to see them leave after only a short time with the department. The council also had a plaque presentation for Fran Barlow for her years of service on the Beautification Committee. The council also heard information on the taxi service and they discussed the appropriation of some Listeman Funds. The council also heard the Public Works Report. The usual amount of work was done in the city including trimming and pruning trees, cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, filling pot holes, maintaining street lighting, hauling brush and compost and more.
The Water Department is also in the process of changing some water meters and the Sewer Department is doing lift station maintenance. The department is also finishing up the second round of leaf pick up.
