Neillsville School Board Report

The Neillsville School Board held their regular meeting on Monday.

Matt Zoschke shared his concerns regarding student discipline procedures during homecoming week. Donations were approved from the Neillsville Heritage Days Committee for the Christmas light project and from various local businesses for the elementary school’s Family Fun Night. Motions were made to approve various trips including the out-of-state field trip for high school chorus to the Dorian Festival on January 12-14, the out-of-state field trip for high school chorus to Florida on March 25-31, and the international trip to London, Paris and Barcelona in 2020. The board also approved a foreign exchange student from Italy.

Elementary principal, Scott Schiller reported on attendance; Nov. 9th ??" Fall Family Fun Night; Nov. 21-23rd ??" Thanksgiving Break; Dec. 13th ??" elementary holiday concert; seal-a-smile dates; Nov. 8th & 9th - Veterans Day program; Warrior of the Week program; a presentation by author Ruby Semenchuk; and turkey donations.
High School principal, Craig Anderson reported on attendance; winter sports; Nov. 7th ??" 8th grade trip to CVTC; Dec. 17th ??" MS/HS winter choral concert.
District Administrator, John Gaier reported on the WASB state convention; Wisconsin Act 143; and the state report card for the district.

The board also approved the resignation of Cynthia Anderson from her food service position, the hiring of Mandy Marksteiner and Jennifer Pagenkopf for teaching assistant positions. They also approved the resignation of Brian Waters from his National Honor Society advisor position and hiring of Tim Voigt for the middle school girls’ basketball coaching position. The also approved the support staff wage scale as presented effective December 1.
