Neillsville City Council Hears Officer’s Report

Saturday, November 17th, 2018 -- 7:20 AM

The Neillsville City Council heard the Officer’s Report at their meeting on Tuesday.

Neillsville Police Chief Scott Klueckmann reported that for October, the department had 149 complaints, 71 services calls, 68 traffic citations, 93 traffic warnings, 3 crash investigations, 22 ordinance citations, 15 adult arrests, 9 cases referred to the District Attorney, 11 juvenile cases and 23 parking citations. The department continues to see higher numbers compared to last year. Some other items of note includes the department’s ongoing investigation into the stolen tires/rims and Gross Motors in Neillsville. They also investigated a complaint in which a Neillsville High School student threw a pumpkin through a window during homecoming. The department has also been dealing with stolen vehicles throughout the City of Neillsville. The department reminds residents to simple lock your vehicles and, during this time of year, don’t leave them unattended while they warm up.

Chief Klueckmann, as well as Sheiff’s Detective Kerry Kim, went to Barron County to assist in the search for Jayme Closs. Finally, Chief Klueckmann assisted the Neillsville School District in a safety assessment, which was required after they received the School Safety Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, and all Neillsville officers are now carrying Narcan in case they encounter a fatal overdose.
