Clark County Farmland Preservation Plan Amended

The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution amending the Clark County Farmland Preservation Plan.

A public hearing was held to receive county resident input on the amendment. The plan was amended to include land in the Town of Colby that was inadvertently excluded from the farmland preservation area. They also had to exclude land are city annexation and changes to local municipal zones. The board also approved a resolution making revisions to the employee handbook regarding 2019 benefits. Some needed policy language amendments to clarify specific items needed to be added to the 2019 benefits. The board also approved a resolution ratifying a 1.84% base wage increase for union employees that will take effect January 6th. They also approved the wage increases for the Sheriff’s Department. They’ll receive a 2.25% increase in January of 2019 and a 1.5% increase in January of 2020 and July of 2020. They’ll also receive other benefits/increase as well.

Finally, the board approved a resolution that will be sent to legislators supporting a $1.5 million increase in the state budget in 2019-2021 for child support agencies, they approved a 1.84% base wage increase for non-union employees, they approved reducing a minimum bid for some land in Greenwood from $2,500 to $1,750 and they approved dedicating the 4th floor of the Clark County Courthouse to a county native, Bruce Belifuss, who served on the board and was a State Supreme Court Judge from 1964-1983.
