Greenwood School Board Hears New Course Proposal

The Greenwood School Board heard about a New Course Proposal at their meeting on Monday.A New Course Proposal form was included in the board packet for informational purposes. New form and process requires staff to provide more details about any new proposed class. The board approved the Calendars for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years. The graduation dates will be the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. An update on the 2018-19 district budget was also provided and it was mentioned that the early indications on the Health Insurance premiums for 2019-2020 are very encouraging.
The board also amended Policy 5136, Personal Communication Devices. Students will not be allowed access to cell phones during RICE time. They also had the first reading of Policy 7455, Fixed Asset Accounting. The second reading, and action, is scheduled for December. Finally, for NEOLA Policy Update 27.2, the board will consider policies numbered 0000’s-4000’s first and then 5000’s-9000’s. The first reading of 0000’s-4000’s group will be at the December meeting.
