Greenwood School Board Discusses Employment Matters

-The Greenwood School Board accepted a resignation at their meeting on Monday.The board accepted the resignation of Dani Belich as a Special Education Assistant. They also approved the employment of Barry Melcher, at 40%, as a Study Hall Supervisor, Christy Gilbertson as a Substitute Teacher, Heidi Ashbeck as the Varsity Softball coach, John Davidson as the Middle School Softball coach and Eric Johnson as the Middle School Baseball coach. The board also approved the 1-Act Play’s overnight trip to La Crosse for the State Competition November 16th, the Band & Choir trip to Chanhassen Dinner Theater in MN on May 18th of next year and a tentative approval for the Spanish Club trip to Peru in the summer of 2020. The board also approved four volunteers.
The board also heard a presentation from Guidance Counselor Ms. Vinci and student Hayley Kuester as they reviewed the junior class visit to the Wisconsin Education Fair and campus visit to UW-Stevens Point. Also, Ms. Hallett, Agriculture Instructor and FFA Advisor and students, Sierra Myers, Holly Davidson and Amya LaMarr provided the board a recap of the FFA National Convention. Finally, a community member addressed the board regarding substitute teacher pay in surrounding districts. Another community member spoke about adding classes that have relevance to students’ futures.
