Appeals Court Won't Let State Republicans File Attorneys Ahead of Expected Redistricting Fight

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) -A state appeals court won't let Legislative Republicans hire attorneys ahead of an expected fight over redistricting.
The decision from the Court of Appeals in Wausau comes after a Dane County judge told Assembly Speaker Robin Vos that Republicans can't spend taxpayer funding on lawyers for a lawsuit that hasn't happened yet.
Republicans had hired those lawyers at the end of 2020, but were forced to end those contracts in April due to the ruling. It's unclear if Republicans will have to recover over 100 thousand dollars in legal fees that were already paid out.
